General Terms and Conditions

1. Bookings and Payments

All courses and sessions must be booked and paid for in full prior to attendance.
If payment is not received by the stated deadline, your place cannot be guaranteed.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

No refunds or transfers will be given in the event of non-attendance, regardless of the reason.
If you cancel your place less than 21 days before the course start date and your place cannot be filled, the full course fee remains payable.
If your place is filled, or if you cancel more than 21 days in advance, a £75 administration fee will be retained and the balance refunded.
If We Do Tennis cancels a course, you will be offered a full refund or free course transfer.

3. Booking Amendments

Any changes or amendments to a booking are subject to a £75 administration fee per request.
If you request to transfer to a different course, this fee must be paid before your place is confirmed.
Once booked, you must attend all sessions at the same venue.
Moving to another course is subject to availability and will incur an additional £75 administration fee each time.

4. Attendance Requirements

Full attendance is mandatory. No partial attendance or missed sessions are permitted under any circumstances.
For LTA qualifications:
- Level 1 must be completed within 12 months of the start date.
- Level 2 and 3 must be completed within 24 months.
- Failure to complete within these timeframes will require a re-registration fee.

5. Illness and Injury

In the event of prolonged illness or injury, please notify us in writing.
Where possible, we will consider course transfers. If a substantial portion of the course is missed, an additional administrative top-up fee may apply.

6. COVID-19

If you are unable to attend due to COVID-19 symptoms, no refund or transfer is guaranteed.

7. Tutors and Course Delivery

We reserve the right to change tutors or provide suitable substitutes if necessary.

8. Eligibility and Conduct

By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you meet all course prerequisites by the course start date.
No refund or transfer will be issued if you fail to meet these requirements.
Learners must have sufficient English language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) to understand the course content and complete assessments without assistance.
We reserve the right to reject or remove any applicant deemed unsuitable, including after enrolment if new information arises.
Falsifying information, or having a criminal record or caution incompatible with certification, may result in removal from the course and withdrawal of your qualification.

9. Third-Party Payments

If a third party (e.g., employer or sponsor) is paying your course fee, you must provide their written agreement to cover the costs.
If this documentation is not received, your application may be delayed or rejected.
You remain responsible for ensuring full payment is made before the course starts. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting your place.

Rules

We Do Tennis accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged property, except for where loss is caused by the negligence of We Do Tennis. Any such liability shall be limited to the extent that such loss was reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was entered into. For the avoidance of doubt, this clause in no way excludes or limits the liability for personal injury or death caused as a result of the negligence of We Do Tennis, it's employees and affiliated bodies.
Players are required to wear non-marking shoes when on tennis courts.
We Do Tennis reserves the right to deny entry to any person if there is evidence of misconduct or abusive behaviour.
Our team deserve to work in pleasant and constructive environments. We reserve the right to cancel any booking if this is threatened.

Coaching Qualifications: Pre-Requisites & Assessment

LTA Assistant (Level 1):

Be 16 years old, on or before the first day of the course
Have a signed ‘letter of deployment’ from the venue where you have your four hours of work experience organised. If you need support with this, your local Coach Development Centre can help.

LTA Instructor - Level 2:

For optimal course quality and impact, the LTA Instructor qualification pre-requisites are to ensure that the course demands are aligned with your existing knowledge and skills. For LTA Instructor, these are:

A current or previous rating of 7.1 (post 2003) or higher OR successful completion of an Instructor Readiness Test. The Readiness Test can take up to two weeks to be assessed once submitted – please allow sufficient time for this before the start of your course.
Hold the Level 1 Coaching Assistant, LTA Tennis Assistant qualification.
Hold a DBS/PVG Enhanced Check with Child Barred List certificate applied for in the last 12 months through the LTA or Tennis Scotland (volunteer certificates cannot be accepted). A DBS can be accepted if you are on the Update Service. Please note that it may take at least eight weeks for a DBS to be processed and you must hold a valid LTA DBS certificate to book the course.

LTA Tennis Coach (Level 3):

Hold the LTA Instructor (Level 2) coaching assistant certificate/ECA/ETTC
Be LTA Accredited  or hold a DBS/PVG Enhanced Check with Child Barred List certificate (Volunteer certificates cannot be accepted) applied for through LTA/Tennis Scotland. The certificate must be less than 12 months old from the start date of the course. Please note that it may take at least eight weeks for a DBS to be processed and you must hold a valid LTA DBS certificate upon booking. 
Have (or have had) a rating of 6.1 or better, or successfully complete a Readiness Test/have completed a Play Test at a minimum Grade 1. 
Hold a valid certificate of competence in either First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid at Work(EFAW), or will have successfully completed the OFQUAL Level 3 in First Aid (submit a photocopy of the course certificate).
The Readiness Test can take up to two weeks to be assessed once submitted - please allow sufficient time for this when signing up for the course.

Course Assessment from July 2021: What changed?

Since July 1st 2021, the LTA has been responsible for assessments that are required to be undertaken as part of the Coach Qualification Pathway. We have made a number of changes to the assessment process to make it more accessible and relevant in line with the launch of the updated LTA qualifications.  

Real life coaching assessments (assessing you in a real-life coaching environment) uploaded to LTA Learn via video are an intrinsic part of the LTA Qualification Pathway. Some of the benefits are: 

It's a more relevant method of assessment, as it focuses on you in your teaching environment. This means you get specific feedback tailored to your needs and coaching aspirations. 
Accessibility. There is no need to take an extra day off work or study to attend an assessment. You can fit it into your schedule. 
Learner-centred assessment approach. It gives you the control to decide when you are ready to submit your video assessment. You have the flexibility to engage with your assessment around your other work and commitments. 
Enhanced learning. For the first time, you will be able to review and reflect on your final submission before uploading. You get to decide whether you feel your video upload is the best representation of your coaching. 
A fairer process. The LTA Qualification Assessor can review your video upload multiple times to ensure nothing is missed in the marking of your submission.

Information on Late Submission Fees

The Tutor will set a deadline for submission of portfolio / online learning / video submissions. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in a Late Submission Fee of £75. A late submission fee helps to cover the costs of employing a separate assessor to mark this work.

Cancellation and Refunds for CPD, Safeguarding and First Aid Courses

We Do Tennis does not offer refunds in the event of your cancellation or missed attendance. This applies in all circumstances, unless there is a critical reason for cancellation. We Do Tennis will make every effort to transfer you to a different course at a time that suits you. If you need to rebook because you can no longer attend, please contact our Coach Development Centre here. We aim to respond to all emails in good time.

We Do Tennis will use your personal data, including sensitive personal data, for coach education purposes only and to send you, by post, email or SMS, information related to coach education. For further details, please contact us.
To help us continue to develop your coaching career and our development of market leading courses, unless you have opted out during the application process, We Do Tennis may:
Add your name and contact details to its secure database so that you will receive our periodic coach education newsletters and other relevant promotional material.
Phone you or send you information about other courses and products and about offers from carefully selected third parties, by post, email or SMS.
Pass your contact details to carefully selected third parties and partners so that they can send you by post or email details of their products and services.
